Add King Arthur’s Labyrinth to your list of places to go with kids in Powys. Set in an old Welsh slate mine in Southern Snowdonia, this exciting and mysterious underground storytelling adventure is sure to be a highlight of many a kids day out.
The experience starts with an underground boat trip through a magical waterfall. This waterfall is the threshold to the time of King Arthur, an age of magic and myth, dragons and giants. Once on the other side of the waterfall, step ashore and follow the Dark Age Boatman through twisting tunnels and huge caverns in search of ancient legends. Expect to discover tales of dragons, King Arthur’s last battle and a giant who waded across the Irish Sea. Dramatic scenes, light and sound will bring the Dark Ages vividly to life.
Back on the surface again, families may like to discover the Welsh Legends Maze. Follow the winding paths through the outdoor maze and discover more mythical stories from Wales.
Finally, other family attractions on the same site include Corris Mine Explorers running a choice of trips underground to explore the abandoned Welsh slate mine of Braich Goch, Corris Craft Centre offering retail outlets and a variety of hands-on activities and a cafe.
