Corris Mine Explorers details...

A family day out they will be talking about for years to come! Join Corris Mine Explorers for an award-winning guided tour of an abandoned Welsh slate mine. Choose from three underground trips. Trips vary in length and age restrictions apply.

The hour-long Pathfinder trip is perfect for families with children aged over eight years. Kitted out with a hand torch and hard hat, explore dark, damp tunnels and glimpse what the life of Victorian slate miners was like. Along the way you may see machinery, tools and other items left by miners.

Other options include the Adventurer trip for ages over ten years. This two-hour trip goes further into the old mine workings than the Pathfinder and involves the optional use of ladders, ropes and scrambling, along with using safety clips to attach oneself to safety ropes.

Underground trips start from Corris Craft Centre, also home to King Arthur’s Labyrinth, The Welsh Legends Maze and The Corris Café.

Please see the website of Corris Mine Explorers to find out more and book your family adventure.
