One of the fun family things to do in the Machynlleth and Dolgellau area of Powys is a trip on the Corris Railway, a narrow-gauge railway through the beautiful Dulas Valley. Services are steam-hauled whenever possible. Enjoy a 50-minute round trip including a guided tour of the workshops at Maespoeth. Additional activities for families include a family quiz and a children’s playground. Afterwards, visit Corris Railway Museum. Santa Specials run at Christmas – book early to avoid disappointment.
