Dinosaurs are stomping their way across the UK this summer, and families are invited to join the adventure!

From life-size animatronic T. rexes to hands-on fossil digs and roaring live shows, dino fever is taking over parks, museums, and attractions nationwide.

Whether your child is a budding paleontologist or just loves a good roar, there’s something prehistoric waiting to thrill explorers of all ages. We’ve rounded up the best dinosaur-themed days out and events—perfect for keeping the kids entertained, inspired, and maybe even a little muddy.

Hertfordshire Zoo in Hertfordshire

Step into one of the UK’s largest and most thrilling animatronic dinosaur parks, set in acres of natural woodland. Encounter

life-size, moving, and roaring dinosaurs

from cunning Velociraptors and towering Brachiosaurus to the fearsome Spinosaurus, unpronounceable Pachycephalosaurus, and, of course, the mighty T. Rex.

There’s plenty for the whole family, including a Dino Dig area and other prehistoric-themed activities.

This Dinosaur Trail in the Wilderness Garden is a favourite with younger visitors.

Wander woodland paths and spot 72 life-sized dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures hidden among the greenery. Along the way, children can learn about the T-Rex, Woolly Mammoth, and more, with informative signs and a giant chalkboard for creating their own ‘cave art’.

Discover sensory activities throughout the trail, including a wind-up roaring sound box, life-sized dinosaur footprints, and prehistoric plants to explore by touch. In the Wilderness area, little ones can also enjoy Willow Huts, a birdsong sound box, garden sculptures, a Bug Hotel, and the much-loved Giant’s Chair.

Birdland & Jurassic Journey in Gloucestershire

Located in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds, the park’s magical combination of wildlife, woodland, riverside and gardens makes it the perfect family day out. Venture into the prehistoric themed landscape of Birdland’s Jurassic Journey. There you will discover over 30 life-sized dinosaurs, from a baby stegosaurus to a terrifying T-Rex! Poppy’s Farm Summer Fest in Worcestershire

Little dinosaur fans in the family? This is their chance to meet a ’real’ dinosaur this summer at Poppy’s Farm, part of St Peters Garden Centre in Worcester. Every Thursday in August, families can book an hour-long dino experience, which is both entertaining and educational. Live Dino Meet & Greet dates: Thursdays 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th August.
