Birdland & Jurassic Journey details...

Birdland & Jurassic Journey in Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire, is home to one of the largest collections of exotic birds in the UK. Located in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds, the park’s magical combination of wildlife, woodland, riverside and gardens makes it the perfect family day out.

Birdland cares for more than 500 birds, ranging from king penguins and awesome birds of prey to parrots, cassowaries and cranes in a mix of free-flying and aviary displays. The park also includes indoor enclosures for a variety of exotic birds and other wildlife alongside a host of other features and attractions such as the Indoor Discovery Zone and Hatchery.

Celebrate the amazing biodiversity of African birdlife including hornbills and touracos and a colony of village weavers in the Out of Africa area. Then venture into the prehistoric themed landscape of Birdland’s Jurassic Journey. There you will discover over 30 life-sized dinosaurs, from a baby stegosaurus to a terrifying T-Rex! Allow time to have a go at uncovering fossilized remains in the Dino-Dig.

A programme of daily feeding talks will add to the fun and interest of your visit, so check out what’s on when you arrive so you don’t miss anything! Listen to Meet the Keeper talks in the Encounters Area and ask the Birdland team any questions you may have. Take the chance to be a perch for a parrot or even a climbing frame for a snake!

Finally, don’t go home without relaxing in the Flamingo Point Café and enjoying the locally sourced food and drink including the classic Cotswolds cream tea! There are plenty of picnic spots around the park too.
