Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park near Cheltenham ticks all the boxes for a fantastic kids day out! Educational and fun, this wonderful farm park is packed with things to do and see whatever the weather.
The park opened to the public in 1971 and was the first of its kind in the world. Tour the paddocks to meet and feed a variety of farm animals including rare breeds of sheep, cattle and goats. It is a great chance to see animals farmed by our ancestors.
In the Animal Barn there are seasonal farming demonstrations including lambing and kidding and shearing. You will find the youngest residents of the Farm Park in the Discovery Barn where visitors can get up close to rabbits and guinea pigs.
There is a two-mile wildlife walk offering a chance to enjoy a variety of native animals and plants as you explore the beautiful Cotswold countryside. Allow plenty of time for the kids to enjoy the fabulous play areas with Aerial Play, Bouncy Pillows, indoor play and more. Younger children can get behind the wheel in the Tractor School.
Bags of animal snacks can be bought onsite at Admissions. You will find more than enough to keep everyone busy for a whole day so why not extend your visit and stay over? Stays in their lodges, glamping tents, pods and on their touring and camping pitches include free entry to the Farm Park for the duration of your stay.

Over the winter break, my family and I had the pleasure of staying in one of the brand-new cabins at Cotswold Farm Park. Nestled in one of the most picturesque corners of the Cotswolds, the location alone is worth the trip! The cabins themselves are beautifully designed, blending modern comfort with a cosy, countryside feel. The kitchen was fully equipped – including an oven – making it easy to whip up all the food we needed during our stay. Little touches really stood out, like child-sized cutlery and plates, which made dining with our little one so much easier. The shower and bath were a treat, the lighting was warm and inviting, and the beds – including bunk beds that our little boy absolutely adored – were wonderfully comfortable. There was also a SMART TV which was incredibly nice to cosy down in front of after a long day exploring. We had a hot tub upgrade, and while we didn’t quite muster the courage to brave the December chill, it looked a perfect spot to unwind and soak in the surrounding views. What made our stay even more special was the included entry to the farm. We spent a morning wandering around, meeting the rare breeds, and soaking up the tranquil farm atmosphere before heading to the on-site restaurant for a lovely lunch. All in all, our stay felt like the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and family-friendly comfort. When can we go again!
