Step back to 1870 on a kids day out at The Judge’s Lodging, an award-winning historic house in Presteigne, Powys. Lighting by gas and oil lamps adds to the atmosphere.
Listen to voices from the past on the complimentary audio tour as you explore the restored judge’s apartments, the courtroom and dingy servants’ quarters. You will hear part of the trial of local duck thief William Morgan in the courtroom and also a prisoner complaining about rats in his cell. There are hands-on opportunities for kids such as pumping water in the kitchen!
