A family day out cycling on the nine-mile Elan Valley Trail in Powys is a great way to enjoy the glorious Welsh countryside. Running between Cwmdeuddwr, close to Rhayader, and the top of Craig Goch Reservoir, nearly all the Elan Valley Trail is traffic free and follows a disused railway line.
The route goes past three reservoirs and through a tunnel, which is home to rare bats. Elan Valley Visitor Centre is conveniently situated along the route for refreshments. Cycle hire is available at Elan Valley Visitor Centre and other local outlets.
Please see Elan Valley’s website to find out more and plan your day out.
