Cape Wrath

With no obstructions between the Cape and the Arctic, both Orkney and the Western Isles can be seen, which makes for a beautiful backdrop to photos of you and the kids. The name Фwrath’ derives from the Old Norse for Фturning point’ and the Cape forms a meeting point between the north and west Scottish coasts. It is also believed that Vikings used it as a navigational point to turn their ships. An excellent outdoors trip, the family can see the Cape’s cliffs, which rise 360 feet from the sea, with a solitary lighthouse tower that is strikingly set against the sky and sea. Cape Wrath is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest as well as a designated Special Protection Area, home to large colonies of seabirds.
