Wessex Raceway (incl Virtual Warfare and THE GRID) details...

One of the fun places to go in Wiltshire is Wessex Raceway Indoor Karting, housing a huge family-friendly 700m indoor karting track, a vast indoor laser combat arena called Virtual Warfare and THE GRID – one of the first laser maze experiences in the UK. Located on the outskirts of Salisbury, it is an attraction packed with unique and crazy fun things to do for all ages and interests.

Wessex Raceway used the very latest technology to create THE GRID Laser Maze. Each challenge is controlled by sophisticated software that allows staff to tailor the level of difficulty to be suitable for each group. Players are invited to negotiate a complex web of laser beams as they make their way through THE GRID to the end goal: you will score points for perfection and lose points if you break the beams.

THE GRID Laser Maze experience is perfect entertainment for groups of up to 12, whether it’s a few friends or a private party of children or adults. Half an hour for up to 6 players costs £50, one hour for up to 12 is £100. Situated within the main Wessex Raceway building, THE GRID offers the same top-quality experience as the two other on-site indoor activities: indoor karting and laser combat.

Wessex Raceway Indoor Karting has been offering safe high-speed karting for children for 15 years. Training sessions for children aged 8-13 years last for one hour and include 30 minutes of karting at a cost of £38 per driver. Other sessions are available.

For a super high tech laser combat experience, try Virtual Warfare. It is played in 11,000 sq ft of highly realistic indoor arena. Featuring Playstation-quality sound effects and individual challenges, the hour-long, family-friendly Arrive and Die session is £16 per player.

What a great choice of family activities and so much inspiration for kids birthday parties! For an action-packed kids day out, why not boost your time spent at Wessex Raceway by adding THE GRID Laser Maze to a karting or laser combat session? Wessex Raceway Indoor Karting is available for ages 8 years and over and Virtual Warfare Laser Combat for age 5 years upwards.

In addition to the onsite bar/café, catering and full changing facilities are available to enhance your experience further. Wessex Raceway is normally open from Tuesday to Sunday, times vary; it is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Various packages are available so prices vary – please call for information.
