The Nature Discovery Centre is a great free day out for the kids in Berkshire. The visitor centre has lots of interactive wildlife and natural history displays. Outside is a bird hide and a network of footpaths. There are regular family events and trails, especially during school holidays. Activities such as bushcraft skills and pond dipping can be arranged for kids parties.
