Ascot Racecourse details...

Famous the world over for the outstanding quality of its horseracing, Ascot Racecourse can make a fabulous day out in Berkshire for families. Look out for amazing family days scheduled throughout the year and take the children along to experience the electric atmosphere of horseracing and a variety of free entertainment.

The Spring Family Raceday at Easter time offers a wealth of family entertainment in addition to thrilling action on the track. There may be pony rides, dog agility and bird of prey displays, ferret racing, den building and more.

Another designated family day, Fireworks Spectacular Family Raceday in early November features the £100,000 Gold Cup Chase over three miles. Racing will be followed by one of the largest fireworks displays in the region! During the afternoon there will be family activities including pony rides and fairground rides such as dodgems and tea cups on The Plaza Lawns (fairground rides are free to racegoers until 4pm, thereafter £1 per ride with proceeds going to local charities). All racegoers will have free admission to the huge Fireworks Display, starting at 6.30pm.

On racedays children aged 18 years and under enjoy free entry to the racecourse and all entertainment is free. Ticket prices start from £16 per adult and there are generous group discounts.

Free guided tours led by stewards allow visitors to see the weighing room and jockeys’ changing rooms. There is a wide range of food options available and picnics may be welcome at certain events.

Located close to the M3, M4, M40 and M25 motorways, Ascot Racecourse is located in lovely wooded countryside adjoining Windsor Great Park and is approximately a 50-minute drive or train journey from London.
