For an interesting family day out, visit the charming country cottage just outside Worcester where Sir Edward Elgar was born and learn more about this great English composer.
In the cottage there is a room furnished as it might have looked in the middle of the 19th century and many artefacts from Elgar’s life, including his desk and chair.
The visitor centre features a narrative of the composer’s life, complete with videos, photographs and interactive displays.
Then go outside into the lovely cottage garden to find the statue of Sir Edward Elgar enjoying the view of the Malvern Hills. At certain times there are traditional garden games available for visitors.
