Sir Harold Hillier Gardens details...

For a wonderful day out that has something for every member of the family, plan a visit to these famous and award-winning Gardens.

These 180 acre, much-loved Gardens run as a charity. They provide breath-taking beauty and tranquillity throughout the seasons, and are very popular with families.

Almost 25 species of butterfly have been recorded within the Gardens. This is  due to the availability of nectar from a wide range of native and none native cultivated plants.

Look out for lots of fascinating butterflies in the summer months. Remember to take your binoculars with you to spot both butterflies and the beautiful birds!

The Sir Harold Hillier Gardens are delightful all year round, with lots of diverse plantings. See the Heather Garden, the Winter Garden and The Bog Garden. There is a beautiful pond, a Hydrangea Walk, Rhododendron Woodland, as well as many more interesting areas to enjoy.

Children will have lots of outdoor fun climbing the fantastic tree house! They can jump across the wobbly bridge and weave through the bamboo tunnels!

Have a go at the Super Snake swing, try out the wooden obstacle course and go on the Flying Carpet swing.

Don’t miss seeing all the wonderful fish and ducks in the pond.

The Children’s Education Garden encourages discovery of the natural environment in a fun way. Look out for the delightful pigs foraging in the woods (when in residence).

All the family can enjoy the excellent facilities at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens!  Visit the historical Jermyn’s House, Café and Restaurant and the gift shop.

There are countless buggy friendly pathways. There are also art exhibitions, workshops, musical events and guided tours.

Look out for a lively programme of children’s activities, particularly during school holidays. This may include Pond Dipping, themed trails, Bushcraft and Archaeology sessions.

Please visit Sir Harold Hillier Garden’s website for further details and to book your tickets for a great family day out.
