Kids can go wild in the heart of the New Forest National Park! Enjoy the amazing animals at this beautiful park, such as Otters, Deer, Badgers, Ferrets, Hedgehogs and some fascinating lesser known animals such as the European Polecat, the Bison or the Sika Deer.
There are also an abundance of fascinating Owls. Follow the woodland trails to see Wallaby, Wolves, Wild Boar, Scottish Wildcats, Lynx, Foxes, Pine Marten and more. You even get a chance to say hello to the friendly Deer and meet the playful Otters, including the endangered Giant Otter. There are feeding sessions, keeper talks and special events throughout the year.
The Keeper Experience, Little Helper and Junior Keeper Experience sessions will bring you up close to these fascinating animals and teach you more about their daily lives and habits. You can also adopt your own special animal for a year, or six months and be part of the conservation programme. Kids can have hours of fun on the fabulous adventure playgrounds. Located among the trees and in sight of the park’s wildlife, Go Wild! is suitable for 6 year olds and over, and has a zip wire, log jumble, ’birds’ nests’ climbing ropes, swings, spider nets and more. For the tiny tots there’s Mini Go Wild! where younger visitors up to six years old can enjoy the sand pits, diggers, slides, climbing frames and swings, all in a safe and stimulating environment.
It’s also a great place for a really wild birthday party! Included is a guided tour of the wildlife park and its animals, a close encounter with a species of choice, a six-month animal adoption for the birthday child, a birthday buffet tea, goodie bags and all-day entry to the park and its fabulous Go Wild! adventure play areas.
Enjoy a wolf themed quiz trail around this fabulous wildlife park in Hampshire. Held from the 18th to the 20th October.
We knew very little about the New Forest Wildlife Park before we went, but we were looking to go somewhere that we hadn't been before and after checking out their website we decided to give it a go - we were not disappointed! The Park had a very relaxed atmosphere and we obviously timed it right because almost all of the animals were out and about and in the mood to entertain! Of all the animals on show, the otters were (rather predictably) the highlight, very playful and energetic (we even had to pop back for a second visit at the end of our trip to see a bit more of the action!). This is nicely sized wildlife park, not too big but with plenty to see, easily enough to keep everyone entertained for at least half a day, and loads of large adventure playgrounds thrown in for the kids for good measure. Timing is probably quite key, we thought that maybe the animals got a bit more sleepy after feeding time so best to get there beforehand (and in time to watch) if you can. Really nice place to stumble across.
