Eureka! The National Children's Museum details...
One of the great places to go in West Yorkshire is Eureka! The National Children’s Museum where all the family can experience a fun-packed day out. This museum in Halifax is a fully interactive museum totally dedicated to children aged 0-11 years where kids are encouraged learn through experiment, discovery, hands-on and investigation.
Try out six colourful zones each filled with hundreds of interactive exhibits designed to inspire young minds to find out about themselves and the world around them.
Discover the unique zones, enjoy the extensive grounds and the creativity space. Each zone has a different theme to explore. Check out the ‘All about Me’ gallery, make some noise in the Sound Garden, focus on the world of work in the Living & Working Together area and watch the kids take over a child-sized town.
Inspiring events are held throughout the year, from science experiments to interactive shows.
Admission tickets allow unlimited visits for a year from purchase, children under 3 years have a reduced price entry. Book online before your visit. Open every day except seasonally on Mondays.

The Gul Family Visit to Eureka Children's Museum
Eureka is a lovely light-hearted place where it is colourful and exciting to see at first glance. The landscape and scenery it is based in is very scenic as it sits in the middle of a valley. The attractions and exhibits are informative and stimulate curiosity from the children, from all age ranges. A family could easily spend all day playing in the Eureka Museum whether its Mum and Dad or the kids, and this opinion of ours is when we were in the middle of winter when there were less outdoor activities due to the season and weather. The only downside is that the Cafe was rather cold and we needed to all put our coats on again as we ate our lunch to keep warm. Make sure you keep your valuables and belongs safe and on yourself, as the cloakroom booths are shared. The Medical and Science Exhibits were great and it felt like a futuristic hospital. The Humanities Subjects covered by Eureka such as history and geography teaches a very colourful perspective of the past showing real exhibits like phone booths amongst others, within an old replica of a town centre within the museum. It is very nostalgic for adults who grew up through the 70s 80s and 90s. Our Children aged 11, 9, 7, 1, and 8 month old all enjoyed the different things to do together. They enjoyed every part of the Eureka Museum. . We would say that purchasing the pass is well worth it as it is valid for a year, and I am under the impression that many different exciting events for children would happen throughout the seasons in the year. The live act in the auditorium was funny, due to the cheesiness of it, but I still believe its important for young children to watch a live act, to understand live theatre and live entertainment how we as children once enjoyed such as puppet shows and pantomimes. Overall Eureka is surely worth a visit for fun and educational purposes for all families to learn about our world and enjoy it at the same time. Many thanks The Gul Family
