Brooklands Museum details...

For a very exciting plane and automobile-filled day that all the family will enjoy, visit Brooklands Museum in Weybridge, Surrey. You will discover the birthplace of British motor sport and aviation. Take time to explore the vast collection of Brooklands related cars and planes, including the only retired Concorde in the South East which allows access to visitors; a must for all children.

During the weekdays in school half term holidays, Brooklands will be running Kids Tours on the Brooklands Concorde. These tours will be tailored for younger audiences, with lots of fun and noise being encouraged! On weekdays during the school holidays, families can also take a thrilling car ride along the historic banked race track.

Visitors to the museum can now take their seats for the ride of their lives in a brand new, state-of-the-art 4D theatre! There you can fly with the Red Arrows, race around the Brooklands track or ride with Mike Hawthorn around Le Mans.  Look out for the two petrol pagodas – both dating from 1922 and which have been fully restored to their 1920s and 1930s external appearance.

Brooklands Museum shares an entrance with the London Bus Museum and admission prices cover both museums. When little legs get tired, there is the Sunbeam Cafe where everyone can enjoy some great refreshments, followed by a visit to the museum shop which has a wonderful selection of games and models. There is also a soft-play area, which is great for the under 5s. The museum also holds a variety of special events throughout the year, many aimed at younger visitors. Look out for the Mini Aces under 5’s Club, which brings the Museum to life through stories, craft, song and dance.  With a focus on different objects, stories and exhibits each month, children can discover the treasures there are in the collection and build self-confidence in a new and exciting environment.

There are also family workshops, run by the Learning Team, where in the past windsocks have been made, secrets of paper marbling have been discovered and families have even helped the resistance decode WW2 messages! Remember to download the Trail Guide before visiting.
