Wookey Hole details...

In the heart of Somerset lies Wookey Hole, a magical place of caves, legends, and adventure for the young and young at heart. Treat the family to a day out at Wookey Hole and enjoy an experience millions of years in the making.

There is plenty to do inside and out, from vintage penny arcades to museums, adventure golf and soft play zones, to name but a few of the attractions. Not forgetting the breathtakingly beautiful caves, for which Wookey Hole is famous.

Your visit will take you through eight chambers, each with a unique beauty and story. You will also pass the cheese tunnel, home to the delicious Wookey Hole cheese. The cheese is not the only resident of the caves. Over the years, Wookey Hole has been home to giant hyenas, bears, Neanderthals, and many local people. It has even been a site of pagan and Roman worship.

You will find Wookey Hole holds a surprise around every corner. You might even get to meet its most famous resident, the Witch of Wookey Hole. It has been found that she most likes to visit during school holidays! The world-famous Wookey Hole Circus School performs at Wookey Hole at weekends and during school holidays.

Every year over 250,000 people visit Wookey Hole and take-home cherished memories of a great day out. Whether it is your first time or your fiftieth, there is always something new to discover.

Finally, if you are staying in Somerset, Wookey Hole has a comfortable family hotel and hot tub lodges on site. Three miles down the road is Bucklegrove Holiday Park, which is part of the Wookey Hole family and offers a range of options from camping and touring to lodges. There is also an indoor swimming pool onsite.

Please see Wookey Hole’s website for opening times and other details.
