Ventnor Botanic Garden lies in the remarkable microclimate at the heart of the famous ‘Undercliff.’ It’s an innovative Botanic Garden for the 21st century.
Known as ‘Britain’s Hottest Garden’ it is set amongst 20,000 rare and subtropical plants, ten secret gardens and a secret tunnel!
Children can explore the Champion Tree Trail, the Lizard Safari and the Dinosaur Trail.
With over 13 Gardens to explore from Australia to Japan, there’s an impressive collection of succulents and cacti. These include huge spiky agaves and flowering aloes.
There are also sun-loving herbs, giant echiums, vibrant tender bedding plants and mature palm trees that thrive there. As do many colourful South African plants, Australian eucalyptus, bottlebrushes, tree ferns, and much more.
The Plantation Room Café is a wonderful place for when little legs get weary. The Café is situated high above the Palm Garden, and offers a range of lunch options with daily specials.
