Tamworth Castle in Staffordshire has over 15 rooms bringing 900 years of fascinating history to life. Learn about life in a medieval castle, imagine the fate of prisoners in the dungeon and sit in the stocks! There are hands-on kids activities and costumes to try on.
New in 2021 was the interactive Battle & Tribute exhibition showcasing the Anglo-Saxon history of the area. Highlights include an immersive combat film experience and artefacts from the famous Staffordshire Hoard.
If it’s warm enough, why not take a picnic and spend the rest of your day out exploring the Castle Grounds? Free to enter, the grounds have a great play area and a variety of activities for families such as river walks, cycle hire and crazy golf.
