Hardcastle Crags and Gibson Mill details...

One of the favourite places to go with the kids is Hardcastle Crags near Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire. Enjoy a perfect family day out exploring the valley’s natural features. Keep the children occupied for hours at this steep sided beauty spot, take a picnic and walk the wooded trail; play in the babbling brooks and tumbling waterfalls. At the heart of the valley is Gibson Mill that is now a family-orientated visitor centre, telling the history of the valley over the past 200 years.

Try the interactive displays, have fun dressing up, investigate the exhibitions join in with one of the great family friendly events.

Gibson Mill is unique in the UK and is the National Trust’s flagship sustainable building, providing its own electrical power and having no link to the national grid.

Entrance is free of charge but there are pay and display car-parks at Midgehole Road and Clough Hole, Widdop Road; cafe, shop and toilet facilities are at Gibson Mill.
