Formby Beach at Lifeboat Road

Pack a picnic for a beach day exploring the natural coast at Formby. Find a wide sandy beach, high dunes, furrowed grassland and a belt of pinewoods, a large car park, picnic areas and waymarked paths to the beach, dunes and woods. The high dunes afford excellent views across the Irish Sea and even the mountains of Cumbria. There are no fixed visitor facilities on the site but plenty of amenities in nearby Formby Village. Please take note of beach safety flags, tide times, there is a RNLI lifeguard during the summer holidays.
