Take the kids to the Discovery Museum, a local history and science museum in Newcastle upon Tyne. Learn about the city and Tyneside courtesy of permanent displays and temporary exhibitions, which focus on the area’s maritime, scientific and technological significance at home and abroad.
As you enter the museum come face to face with ’Turbinia’, a 34 metre steam powered ship that was once the fastest ship in the world and an iconic part of the history of Tyneside.
