We visited the back to backs on Saturday 9th March 2019. I had booked the tour as a birthday treat, I took along my husband our 2 grown up sons and their partners. Our tour guide was Jean who was excellent. My mom had lived in a back to back house and I wanted the boys to see that part of their much loved Nan,s history and some of things I remembers from growing up in Birmingham, the stearalised milk and the Birmingham municipal money box’s and more. Jean brought the houses to life, She made it interesting and kept us entertained with her memories of growing up in Birmingham with stories from her grandmother and Mom. I had been concerned that the boys would find it boring, BUT how wrong I was, they really enjoyed it and definitely would like to go again perhaps for one of the special event days. This is all due to Jean, so a massive thank you to her for making my family day out all the more special. I would thoroughly recommend this tour as a must do for anyone visiting Birmingham. Well done Jean you are an excellent ambassador for the Birmingham back to backs, but also as a representative for the national trust.
