Don’t miss Bears! when it comes to Shropshire this spring. Opening in time for February half term, this exhibition was developed by Seven Stories, the National Centre for Children’s Books. So take the children along to encounter a host of bears, from cuddly favourites to a scary bear lurking under the stairs!
Expect to meet beloved characters such as Winnie the Pooh, Paddington and others as you make your way through the exhibition. See original manuscripts and illustrations from authors and illustrators including Julia Donaldson, Michael Rosen and more. Also, search for bears in the bear forest and even treat your own bear to a bedtime story in the cosy bear cave.
This is a truly family-friendly exhibition with Otto, the Book Bear, guiding children around the displays. Young visitors will be able to follow his trail of paw prints from one section to another and read his messages.
Finally, look out for special workshops and family events linked to the exhibition. Plans include a Teddy Bears’ Picnic; Bear, Sing and Share; We’re going on a Bear Hunt.
The Museum is open Tuesday-Sunday only until the end of March (but daily during Shropshire school holidays); from April the Museum is open daily.
