One of the best places to go with the kids in York is the York Castle Museum as there is so much to see and do. Step back in time at the Castle Prison, investigate the cramped cells, the dark, dank conditions where the county’s worst criminals including Dick Turpin were kept. Stroll through the atmospheric Victorian street for a glimpse of the social history of the Victorian era, and in ’Swing Back to the Sixties’ experience the music and fashions that changed Britain.
Check the website for the latest exhibitions and find out what’s on for children, especially in school holidays, see the events programme and make your plans. Children up to 16 years have free entry with a full paying adult ticket.
