WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre

Martin Mere Wetland Centre has heaps to keep all the family entertained on a day out in Lancashire. Get close to the wildlife when you take the pathways around the park, visit the otter enclosure and learn about the resident Asian short-clawed otter family from the talks and feeding sessions.

Discover creatures in a pond dipping session, watch the swan feeds, spot the water voles and reed buntings when you explore on a self guided canoe safari through the reedbed habitat.

Squelsh along in your wellies on the Wild Walk maze of wetland tracks, the wobbly web bridge to wet woods and find sculptures along the balance board pathways. Take a boat tour around the wetlands to learn all about Martin Mere, spot dragonflies and listen for warblers. Get hands-on in the craft room, pick your spot to build a den, join the Gosling Gang toddler sessions during term time or join one of the may family friendly activities and events. Allow plenty of time for the kids to make the most of the Rushes Adventure Playground with its water play space with dams, bridges and channels to explore; invade the giant tree house and slide down the tunnel, zip down the cableway, play in the sand flats and climb around the sculptures. Finish the lovely day out with refreshments in the Mereside Cafe.
