Wistow Rural Centre details...

Wistow Rural Centre has been created and extended in recent years to provide a wide variety of shops in beautiful rural surroundings. The 18th century walled garden to Wistow Hall and fine Listed vinery now houses Ken Bailey Garden Centre and the enchanting Model Village.

The Wistow Café/Bistro offers a big selection of hot and cold food that can be eaten inside or out, and can cater for parties of all sizes.

There is an Art Gallery and Mediterranean Deli, with numerous shops selling woman’s clothing, jewellery, handbags, home fragrances, dog accessories, furniture and gifts galore. Full list on website.

The Model Village comprises over 75 buildings and in good weather the trains will be running.  It is Free admission, with all donations given to two local charities for young people, ’Rainbows Children’s Hospice’ and the ’Sir Andrew Martin Trust’.

During the Summer the famous Wistow Maize Maze opens across the road (with a new quiz trail and theme each year), so you can visit both places in one day.

At Christmas, there is a Santa’s Grotto situated in the walled garden, and other events are happening throughout the year, so keep an eye out!

There are numerous country walks with cattle grazing in the fields around St Wistan’s Church and the Grand Union Canal, and views of historic Wistow Hall with its scenic parkland and lake.
