Get close to nature with the family by visiting the WWT Washington Wetland Centre in Tyne and Wear. Whatever the season, there’s always something interesting to watch from the hides and bird-feeding stations. Meet the resident Asian short-clawed otter family and beautiful flock of Chilean flamingos.
There’s a fun play area, the Waterside Cafe for delicious snacks and a full events programme offering exciting family activities especially in the school holidays. Under 4s have free entry.
Sunderland Astronomical Society runs various meetings and workshops at the Cygnus Observatory in the Discovery Centre at WWT Washington, check the website for dates of public workshops.
