Twycross Zoo details...

Spend a perfect family day out with the kids at the specialist zoo on the Leicestershire/Warwickshire border. Watch the antics of over 500 animals covering 100 species from larger mammals of which some are endangered to creepy crawlies.

Renowned as a specialist primate zoo, you will encounter a wide variety of monkeys and apes, and it is the only zoo in the UK where you can see all types of great ape – gorilla, orang utan, chimpanzee and bonobo (you should be able to spot some humans too!). Discover your favourites from meerkats and penguins, to the Amur leopard, the world’s rarest big cat.

There is plenty for all the family to see and do with daily animal talks that will tell you fascinating facts about your favourite animals plus the Himalaya Centre that is a unique, family-friendly venue which is separate from the zoo and free to enter. It overlooks the Snow leopard enclosure and is the perfect place to relax, enjoy a coffee and cake, while your little monkeys go wild in the soft play centre.

Look out for the family events, daily activities or plan children’s birthday party for a super celebration. Discounts are available when buying online tickets in advance and under 3s have free entry.
