See specimens from the fields of zoology, botany, entomology, geology and more in the Natural Sciences collection. Find yourself face to face with the Thinktank Ichthyosaur in the Marine World’s Gallery and look into how creatures have adapted to life in the oceans.

Designed especially for families with under 8s, MiniBrum is Thinktank’s own mini city where children are in charge. Play zones include shops, a transport area and construction site alongside sensory areas for babies.

Step back to the past in the Move It Gallery and Power Up Gallery. Explore the vehicles and huge working engines that contributed to the city’s importance during the Industrial Revolution. Do you know about Birmingham’s links to the Spitfire? The Science & Industry Collection offers the chance to learn about 250 years of technological development and achievement.

Look ahead to the future as you explore outer space and find out about innovative inventions, medical advancements and scientists’ predictions. One of the highlights in the Futures Gallery is interactive exhibit Create an Alien!

Meanwhile, The Things About Me Gallery offers the chance to learn how our bodies work. The Wild Life Gallery is the place to discover the range of habitats and diversity of life on our planet. Discover how humans have changed the world and how wildlife and the environment are being affected by these changes in Our Changing Planet gallery. What can we do to help protect our planet in the future?

The whole family will have fun outside in the Science Garden with 30 hands-on exhibits demonstrating the principles of mechanics, engineering and transportation. Don’t miss your chance to have a go in the human-sized hamster wheel! Part of the Eastside City Park, the Science Garden is free to enter every day from 3pm, closing times vary throughout the year. The Kids’ Park alongside invites little ones to learn more about the science behind sound, touch and movement.
