The Edinburgh Dungeon details...

One of the places you must take the kids when visiting Edinburgh! Scotland’s scariest family attraction full of fun, fear, torture and death. Be transported back to Scotland’s darkest moments thanks to a fantastic combination of 360 degree sets with state of the art special effects, including visual and aural effects – and smells too! A full cast of live actors bring you eleven different shows and guide you seamlessly (but not screamlessly!) from scene to scene in between.

Be judged by a magistrate in the courtroom, what exactly have you been up to? He’ll find out – or make something up! Take a boat trip into the caves of Galloway in search of Sawney Bean and his family – the infamous Galloway cannibals. Step in to Dr Knox’s 19th century anatomy theatre, where he’s dissecting a fresh cadaver – possibly a victim of Messrs Burke and Hare. They will also be lurking about in the darkness, waiting for their next victim. Could it be you!? Meet the foul clenger (plague cleaner) in The Street of Sorrows, and hear how he clears the bodies of plague victims from the tenements and through the foul and stinky closes of 17th century Edinburgh.

The Edinburgh Dungeon brings together an amazing cast of theatrical actors, special effects, stages, scenes and rides in a truly unique and exciting walkthrough experience that you see, hear, touch, smell and feel. It’s hilarious fun and it’s sometimes a bit scary. A range of ticketing options are available, best booked on-line.
