Techniquest Cardiff

Techniquest is the UK’s longest-established purpose-built science centre set in the heart of Cardiff Bay. It is filled with more than 100 hands-on science exhibits and exciting activities for kids and adults alike. Where else can you feel the force of a hurricane, dock a virtual spacecraft, control plasma trails with your fingertips and launch a rocket all in one day?

Science Theatre and Planetarium shows normally run at weekends and in school holidays. You will find plenty to keep all ages happy for a couple of hours or more. Visitors can also visit Coffee Mania next door for refreshments and a Shop near the front entrance with gadgets, gifts, and souvenirs for all the family.

Toddler Days run regularly during term time when Techniquest focuses specifically on under-3s. Extra activities are on offer, all designed to encourage young children to develop an interest in science.

When the weather is cold or wet you need never leave the building, but if it is nice and you fancy a break, all the sights of Cardiff Bay are on the doorstep. Simply leave and come back in that same day by showing your wristband at the front desk. If you have a birthday coming up in the family, check out the kids birthday party package which includes time on the exhibition floor, a show in the Science Theatre, invitations, as well as food and goody bags in a private party area.
