As part of a family day out in London, make your way to Bankside. Tate Modern offers a range of free activities for children and adults to explore together, such as multimedia activities, daily guided tours and sketching in the gallery. Please visit the website for their diary of events. Britain’s national museum of modern and contemporary art from around the globe is housed in the former Bankside Power Station on the banks of the Thames. Amazing work is on offer to see from artists such as Matisse, Rothko, Dali, Warhol and Dal’. Look out for events for families and events at the Gallery, including Listen, Sonic Trails- experience Tate through sound-scapes, created especially created for families by sound artist and musicians. Make sure you check out the vast range of kid’s activities taking place throughout the year, from sculpture to kinetic art and so much more. School visits are available to book with workshops and sessions also on offer. Students can take part in 90-minute practical workshops based in the galleries led by Tate Schools and Teachers’ artists-in-residence.
