Sudeley Castle & Gardens details...

Enjoy a great day out with the kids in the Cotswolds. Sudeley Castle offers a host of exciting activities for families. Learn about the castle’s royal connections as you discover its fascinating history and walk in the footsteps of kings and queens including Richard III, Elizabeth I and Lady Jane Grey.

Explore inside the castle and see a number of the family’s private rooms such as the Tudor Document Room and the bedroom containing Charles I’s campaign bed. Learn more at exhibitions such as The Six Wives Exhibition displaying replica Tudor costumes. At the Roman Exhibition visitors will find out how Roman villas on the estate were excavated and what was discovered. Younger visitors will be captivated by ’Brock: The Tale of the Family Badger’.

Then head outside to enjoy the glorious 1,200-acre estate and ten award-winning gardens. Wander down to the Tithe Barn Garden where the romantic ruins are reflected in the carp pond. Also visit the beautiful 15th-century church to find the tomb of Katherine Parr, the last of Henry VIII’s wives.

Don’t miss The Pheasantry, home to 15 rare species of strikingly coloured birds from around the globe, and the nature trail designed to help families discover the variety of wildlife around the estate.

It’s a good idea to leave plenty of time for the hugely popular adventure playground, likely to be a highlight of the visit. The wooden fort with zip wire and ten-piece assault course provide endless kids entertainment.

Fun days, family activities and special events run throughout the season.
