Enjoy a great day out with the kids in the Cotswolds at Sudeley Castle & Gardens, which offers a host of exciting activities for families. Learn about the castle’s royal connections as you discover its fascinating history and walk in the footsteps of kings and queens including Richard III, Henry VIII, Katherine Parr, Elizabeth I and Lady Jane Grey.
Explore inside the castle and see the bedroom containing Charles I’s campaign bed or learn more about Sudeley’s Tudor connections through royal costumes and tracings of Hans Holbein’s portraits of the Tudor Court.
Then head outside to enjoy the ten award-winning gardens such as the Tithe Barn where the romantic ruins are reflected in the carp pond. Don’t forget to visit the beautiful 15th-century church to find the tomb of Katherine Parr, the last of Henry VIII’s wives. Younger visitors can also enjoy hunting for animal sculptures in the grounds.
It’s a good idea to leave plenty of time for the hugely popular adventure playground, likely to be a highlight of the visit for youngsters. The wooden fort with its slide and zip wire and the ten-piece assault course provide endless kids’ entertainment.
Fun days, family activities and special events run throughout the season.
