Sewerby Hall and Gardens

One of the best places to go with the kids on a family day out is Sewerby Hall and Gardens near Bridlington where you can discover 52 acres of stunning gardens as well as the house, zoo, children’s adventure playground and more.

Within the estate there are woodland walks, orienteering, putting green, picnic area, golf course, foot golf and friendly animals in the children’s zoo. Think ahead and pack up a family picnic as the venue is an award winning family pincic destination. Ride aboard the land train that will take you on a dramatic cliff top journey between Sewerby and Bridlington where you could get off and enjoy the beach for a while.

The children’s zoo has a range of mammals such as Capuchin monkeys, llamas, Sika deer, Pygmy goats and more as well as birds such as Humboldt penguins, cockatiels, budgerigars, parakeets, macaws and ducks. Feeding time is a favourite time to visit the zoo so check the times when you arrive.

The restoration of the house as an Edwardian mansion is as it would have been in 1910 although the original house was started in 1714. The beautiful landscaped gardens are divided into garden themes, the Pleasure garden, the Rose garden and the Walled garden plus the woodlands.

Allow plenty of time for the children to play off some energy in the children’s adventure playground and the treat yourself to something delicious in the tea room if you haven’t brought a picnic.
