Sarehole Mill details...

Have the children ever visited a working watermill? Sarehole Mill, a 250-year-old idyllic mill, is one of two surviving watermills in Birmingham. Tour the mill, gain an insight into the lives of the millers, find out about the links to JRR Tolkien and spot wildlife on the Mill Pond.

Venture into The Woodland Realm, a little area of forest next to the pond, to discover local sculptor Graham Jones’ delightful creations. Work out what these might be – maybe homes for fairies or elves?

Activity packs for families are available to purchase from the Community Shop. It is free to walk around the grounds during site opening hours but there is an admission charge to the mill (pre-booking may be advisable).

Please see the website of Birmingham Museums to find out more before visiting.
