Royal Academy of Arts (The RA)

Why not take your children for a day out to the Royal Academy of Arts (RA) in Central London? There are galleries packed with art and architecture plus a programme of workshops and activities. Furthermore, all kids under 16 years go free to all RA exhibitions.

The RA offer free school workshops and tours and, for younger visitors, have produced a series of free worksheets to keep them entertained – tasks include finding pictures in the exhibition, drawing, and completing creative writing activities.

Finally, look out for the brilliant Summer Exhibition where work is submitted by members of the public as well as established artists. In previous years over £50,000 worth of prizes was awarded and over 5,000 works were sold!
