Roves Farm near Swindon invites visitors of all ages to enjoy hands-on farm experiences with friendly farm animals, as well as experiencing the environment, sights and sounds of a working livestock farm. Excellent indoor and outdoor facilities for all ages mean plenty to do for the whole family, whatever the weather or season. So start planning a great day out with the children in Wiltshire!
Animal barns and paddocks house a range of friendly farm animals including goats, sheep, alpacas, donkeys, poultry, rabbits and others to meet and touch. Hands-on activity sessions to feed, hold and interact with the animals run throughout the day. Visitors can feed the goats, collect eggs and cuddle the rabbits.
Explore the farm on a tractor and trailer ride, watch (and participate in!) the animal racing where trained pigs, goats and sheep give it their all. Children can run off steam in the heated indoor play and activity barn with areas for all ages. They will have a fantastic time trying out the slides, tunnels, soft play, pedal tractors, giant sandpit and NEW electric ride-on tractors – sure to become a firm favourite! Under 5s and babies have their own dedicated zone.
Visit during term time with the little ones and take part in weekday ’Toddler Time’ sessions with bubbles, story time, music and action rhymes. These activities are followed by a chance to meet and feed the animals, and a tractor ride.
When you need a rest, head over to The Woolly Sheep Café located in the main barn. It is cooled in summer and heated in winter with plenty of seating areas inside and out, so you can sit and enjoy a varied menu, from hot and cold snacks to light bites and main meals. Food is cooked fresh to order using local products where possible and Roves Farm’s reared meats. Cakes are all baked onsite by the talented café team using eggs from the Farm’s free-range hens. The Piglet’s Pantry is the takeaway kiosk where you can buy snacks, hot and cold drinks, cakes and ice cream to take away.
During the summer, very popular Family Camp Weekends (pre-booking required) guarantee fun for everyone. The whole family can get involved with field games, a BBQ, mini disco, toasting marshmallows around the campfire. In addition, campers enjoy unlimited entry to Roves Farm all weekend! Tickets go on sale in early January so book early to avoid disappointment.
