Roald Dahl Children's Gallery at Discover Bucks Museum

A permanent gallery at Discover Bucks Museum in Aylesbury, the Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery has two floors packed with amazing interactive exhibits. On the ground floor is the Discover Gallery and upstairs is the Imagination Gallery. The Great Glass Elevator links the two floors, allowing visitors to travel through space like Charlie and Willy Wonka!

The Discover Gallery features five zones, each one inspired by one of Roald Dahl’s magical stories. Discover a world of minibeasts with a flea as big as your hand in James and the Giant Peach. Try out the Super Hearing Machine in The BFG. What will you discover hidden underground down Fantastic Mr Fox’s tunnel?

Meanwhile, in the Imagination Gallery on the first floor things are very definitely not always what they seem! How about freezing your shadow in the shadow booth or letting television transport you into your own drawing? Make yourself disappear with an invisibility cloak and confuse yourself with optical illusions. Pop into Matilda’s Library to enjoy your favourite Roald Dahl story.

A great place to go with kids in Buckinghamshire and ideal for birthday parties. Party packages include an hour-long session in the gallery itself with a Party Planner followed by delicious party food. Themed party bags are available.

Gallery opening times

The Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery is usually open on Saturdays and during Bucks school holidays.
