Natural History Museum details...

Discover an amazing experience for the whole family with so much to see and do in hundreds of exciting and interactive exhibits for children to wonder at at the National History Museum.

Enter in the Orange Zone, which is home to the Darwin Centre Cocoon where, on a self-guided tour, you can see hundreds of fascinating specimens and peek into laboratories where scientists are busy at work. Step outdoors into The Wildlife Gardens and enjoy some tranquillity in the heart of the city.

Back indoors The Blue Zone is a firm family favourite. Walk the length of the model blue whale and marvel at its size, before visiting the famous Diplodocus skeleton and go on to explore the incredible diversity of life on earth.

Follow our planet’s evolution in the Green Zone, where you can walk beneath a 25.2 metre blue whale skeleton and drop into the hands-on Science Investigation Centre where children can use microscopes and other scientific tools to unravel the mysteries of the natural world.

The Red Zone will take you back to the very beginning as you explore all the tremendous forces that have shaped the planet we call home. Learn all about human evolution, experience the drama and power of a volcano and an earthquake through simulations and impressive audio displays, then step back back on solid ground to learn about their lasting effects.

There are apps to download to ensure you don’t miss any of your favourite displays, along with a range of new and special additions throughout the year, which means you can visit this inspiring and educational attraction again and again.

Entry is free, however you may have to pay for extra exhibitions.
