Museum of Lakeland Life & Industry

The museum in Kendal is a good place to go with the children to learn about Lakes people and history, explore a typical Victorian farmers home, stroll down the Victorian high street looking at toys, food, medicines of the past, find out about the Arts and Crafts movement in the area, discover industrial history, farming, mining, tanning and rural life before the age of tourism, investigate famous people such as Arthur Ransome and Swallows and Amazons, John Ruskin and Wordsworth. Children can take the detective trail and they have free entry.
