At Moira Furnace Museum and Country Park, take a guided tour inside the furnace building built in 1806 and discover the history of iron smelting at the site.

Enjoy a Victorian boat trip (small charge) from in the summer months on the Ashby canal, take your bikes and ride along the canal tow path or explore the country park on foot. The children will love clambering over the outdoor playground and allow time to visit the shop.

Your museum tickets also covers entry to the bridge loft and the WWI kitchen. Boat trip tickets, day fishing passes, plus the shop offers you the chance to buy ice creams. Try the take away tea room open throughout the season, whenever the museum is open.

Hop aboard the Joseph Wilkes narrow boat for a gentle meander along the canal, see the ducks, or stroll along the tow path and take in the views.

Entrance

The park and grounds are open all year round, the car parks are open from 9am until 5pm and are completely free.

The museum and boat trips are available from the start of April through to the end of October Half Term. Check the website for opening times.
