Glynn Vivian Art Gallery

One of the free places to go with children in Swansea is the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery. The gallery opened in 1911 after the death of Richard Glynn Vivian, who had gifted his art collection to the people of Swansea a few years previously.

The permanent collection features a range of visual arts ranging from the original bequest to 20th-century Welsh and contemporary art. There is also a programme of temporary exhibitions. Free activities for families are available daily and family workshops run at weekends and during school holidays (book workshops in advance to avoid disappointment).
