Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park details...

A hugely popular destination for families, Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park covers over 800 square miles of North Wales and offers exciting family attractions, fascinating heritage sites and a host of outdoor activities in breathtaking and varied scenery.

The landscapes vary from valleys and sandy beaches to forests, spectacular waterfalls and mountain ranges. From castles, heritage steam railways and an Italian village to beaches, slate caverns and outdoor pursuits centres, there is something for all ages.

In 2015 Snowdonia was designated an International Dark Sky Reserve. Stargazers can enjoy fabulous views of the night sky thanks to efforts to prevent and reduce light pollution in the region. So choose a clear night, wrap up and enjoy a spot of stargazing. As well as countless stars, you may see planets, meteors and more. The website of Eryri National Park has information to help you plan a family stargazing session.

Finally, there are three National Park Information Centres, which are located in Betws y Coed, Beddgelert and Aberdyfi.

Please see Eryri National Park’s website to find out more.
