A fun thing to do with the kids is to visit Chiltern Open Air Museum in Buckinghamshire. The museum rescues historic buildings under demolition threat, rebuilds and preserves them in a Chilterns landscape. The collection includes Victorian buildings, a 1940s Prefab, a Nissen Hut, a reconstructed Iron Age roundhouse and more.
Children can explore the site, dress up in vintage clothes, play with historic games and toys and try out the adventure playground. There are also trails and a family visitor guide with lots of family-friendly facts and interesting information. The events calendar includes exciting living history events – a great way to bring the past to life for kids.
Please see Chiltern Open Air Museum’s website to find out more before travelling.
