Ardingly Activity Centre is an excellent water sports centre based at Ardingly Reservoir, in the heart of West Sussex, with 200-acres of water in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The area is also home to a great number of bird species and is wonderful for keen bird watchers, while the Kingfisher Nature Trail offers a tranquil walk for those who like to experience the great outdoors. Visit the website and you can download a map of the nature trail, the first-half of which is suitable for buggy access.
The reservoir is filled with water pumped from the River Ouse when river flows are high. The Activity Centre offers a host of water-based activities, including dinghy sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and canoeing, raft building, stand-up paddle boards, sit-on-top kayaks, coarse fishing, rowing and triathlon, through local clubs. They are RYA, BCU recognised and AALS licenced and the Centre is now in its 31st year. There is tuition, day launch and hire available, which is subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Centre.
There is also a water-side café for refreshments, which is open during all weekends throughout the year and every day in the summer school holidays. Please note that some activities at the Centre are seasonal and age restrictions will apply. Ardingly Activity Centre is also a super place to celebrate that special birthday party with a difference, where the birthday child can take along all their friends for a water sports experience!
All the children will be able to have a go at sailing, windsurfing, canoeing or raft building and the Centre provides all the equipment, safety cover and any instruction required. There needs to be at least six children in a party and the parties are suitable for children aged seven years and upwards. Get out into the beautiful Sussex countryside and enjoy a great day with the family!
My son had his 8th Birthday party at Ardingly Activity Centre with 6 of his friends - best party ever! They had a go at raft building and absolutely loved it. Highly recommend.
