Admire this amazing structure that was built in 1875 and described as the Cathedral of the Canals, take the boat trip that transfers you from the River Weaver Navigation to the Trent & Mersey Canal and understand this marvel of Victorian engineering.
There is an excellent visitor centre that explains the history, the setting and the mechanical engineering involved, with interactive exhibits and family friendly displays.
The kids will enjoy the water play area and metal maze at the visitor centre or take a picnic and explore the surrounding countryside pathways plus a great tea room and shop.
The visitors centre, cafe and grounds are free to enter. Lift, boat trip combined tickets options are available, under 3s have free entrance but require a ticket to board.
