Packed with family things to do, Alton Towers Resort in Staffordshire is home to one of Britain’s leading theme parks, a water park, a golf attraction, ropes courses, hotels and a spa. With white-knuckle rides, a wonderful range of family rides and the interactive CBeebies Land, the theme park has rides to suit all ages and tastes.
The thrill-seekers in the family will love Galactica, Oblivion and Nemesis. Also, don’t miss Wicker Man. This immersive rollercoaster experience invites visitors to board a train hurtling along a track lit by burning embers. The six-storey-high flaming effigy of Wicker Man will ignite into flames as the train bursts through his chest.
For family fun, try the Runaway Mine Train, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory or the Congo River Rapids. Young children will be delighted to meet and play with their favourite CBeebies characters and enjoy themed rides and live entertainment in the immersive experience of CBeebies Land. They can even become part of Postman Pat’s Special Delivery Service or visit Charlie and Lola at home. Go Jetters Vroomster Zoom Ride and an interactive live show featuring Elmo, Cookie Monster and the rest of the Furchester Hotel gang add to the excitement.
There is still plenty more to discover if you can tempt the family away from the rides! How about testing your head for heights on the Enchanted Forest Tree Top Quest? There’s a high ropes course for daredevils and a low ropes course for younger kids and the less intrepid. Challenge the kids to a game at Extraordinary Golf, two crazy nine-hole courses with amazing obstacles following the themes of some of the Resort’s most iconic attractions.
Alton Towers Waterpark offers endless kids entertainment, from the Lazy River and Lagoona Bay to the thrills of the Master Blaster Water Coaster.
With so much to see and do, consider turning your day out into a short break with a stay at one of the themed hotels such as CBeebies Land Hotel, a woodland lodge or luxury treehouse. Stargazing pods are also available with telescopes to encourage visitors to study the night sky.
Ticket prices and opening times of individual attractions vary. Age/height restrictions may apply. Extra charges may apply for some activities.

I visited Alton Towers on Saturday 6th October with my two children and it was outstanding! We headed straight to CBeebies Land and it didn’t disappoint. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of rides and shows they had for the children. Two favorites being The Go Jetters and Octonauts rides. We were very lucky to attend on the first day of Scarefest and the House Of Monsters was great fun. The actors were brilliant and involved the children throughout which they thoroughly enjoyed. We loved everything, from the food to the rides, not to mention ending our trip with a walk around sea life. I simply can’t fault it - we all walked out with one question, when are we going back? It won’t be long!
