Budding engineers can learn more about the world of steam and diesel railways at Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway's event on 28th and 29th September.
Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway The Railway Station, Toddington, Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, GL54 5DT
Take your budding engineers, young and old, to learn more about the world of steam and diesel railways at Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway’s special event this September. The event will take place in the Main Car Park at Toddington Railway Station.
Families with children aged 5 to 15 years can look forward to a fun and hands-on experience focusing on the technology that enables a railway to operate. There will be interactive displays and workshops, a demonstration signal box and the chance to learn how track is laid, how braking systems on the carriages are maintained and how steam engines are overhauled and restored. Also get inside the cab of a diesel loco, find out about the railway’s efforts to protect the ’nature corridor’ and chat to volunteers about their work at the railway.
There is no charge for entrance to the event; charges apply for travelling on the train.
Please see the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway’s website for further information.
Train trips through beautiful Cotswold scenery and a seriously long tunnel! Look out for family events such as Day Out With Thomas and Santa Specials.
